The IRISH EXERCISE TEACHER ASSOCIATION (IETA)was established in October 1987 for fitness and dance instructors and those in related areas of the fitness industry in Ireland.

The work of the Association is to further ongoing development of educational, professional recognition and maintenance of standards within the Fitness Industry.

IETA Aims

• To provide support and a communication network to members through workshops, seminars and articles.
• To provide up-to-date information on issues, trends and developments in the exercise, dance and fitness industry.
• To promote better standards of exercise/dance instruction and teacher training courses
• To increase public awareness of the benefits of exercise and a healthier lifestyle
• To establish a working relationship with other professional organisations both in Ireland and abroad.

IETA is a voluntary organisation which offers a membership and insurance scheme for instructors.

‘IMPACT’ the Association’s newsletter is printed several times each year and highlights issues and trends for our members.
